The breakfasts here are top-notch, especially the delicious homemade bread. Perfect spot to wander around and check out the area. Service is on point 👌.

The history surrounding the unique building, and the Spirit that my Mediumship picked up. He was from the late (estimate)1600's, who was an ardent John the Baptist follower, and who had been chained up or 'shackled' and who was in what is called 'visitation,' (meaning not grounded or permanent), (amazing!).
Some strange smell in my room which was a little uncomfortable, and needed clothes washing on returning home, as it was strong enough to permeate the material. But this won't stop me booking again.

Can be described as a lovely experience, would recommend. The property is fairly clean; neat and bright rooms; lovely bed. The location is marvellous and incredible, within walking distance of Drews Pond Nature Reserve. It's in the charming area which is another bonus.

I've stayed here several times now, its in the centre of Devizes and has rear parking handy for where I'm working when I'm there. The meals are excellent so is the beer. Its an old timber beamed allegedly haunted pub. The rooms are comfortable, you may get some noise if you are overlooking the front of the pub into the market square but Devizes is a quiet sleepy place on the whole so shouldn't be a problem. It might be a difficulty for you if you are disabled as the stairs are narrow and twisty however staff will assist you if required there are no lifts
I did have a faulty tv on this stay but to be honest I wasn't that bothered but it could have been If I'd had been intrested in something I wanted to watch.

The Black Swan Hotel is a really nice and comfy base for one night. It's a wonderful old place with a fantastic English breakfast. The hotel has a great and lovely location for Devizes, adjacent to local pubs and restaurants. The Crown, a great spot for shots, is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Private parking at rear of hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Very nice evening meal served in upper of two dining rooms. Nice sized room and on suite facilities.
Would not recommend for light sleepers. We stayed over Friday night and with a chip shop and taxi rank opposite, most of Devizes seemed to be outside the hotel until after two in the morning. With breakfast offered at £10.00 each, we skipped this and bought some pastries at a nearby bakery to tide us over.

Nice staff. Hotel was horrendous. Needs serious attention to bring it up to acceptable standard. Could not possibly recomend to friends or even enemies. Very disappointing.
